Unconventional jewelry

A medley of found objects and treasures are collected from the landscape and transformed into unique jewelry pieces.

Bolo Neck Ties

A bolo tie is a type of necktie that traditionally consists of a piece of cord with decorative metal tips secured with an ornamental “slide” centerpiece. Angel Fowler, environmental scientist & co-founder of EWC, creates an evolving collection of one-of-a-kind bolos from creek treasures and utilizes reclaimed aluminum from soda cans on the backside of each centerpiece to adjust position.

These bolos are an eclectic variation of the traditional type- pieced together with natural and/or man-made found objects and/or repurposed vintage jewelry bits. The bolo “slide” consists of a repurposed cut-out portion of aluminum soda can, or wrapped wire fastened on to a signature piece. The bolo is then adorned with a scrap leather or fabric strap and affixed with beads at the tips. The piece can be worn solo, up high as a choker or lower as a dangle necklace, and used as a layering piece with other neck jewelry.

Fragment Earring Studs

The tiniest mineral fragments and mirror bits become a myriad of mismatched ear studs. Relics of living plants and animals, as well as non-living matter- whether transformed or novel, are treasured and preserved into an unconventional ear adornment.
